Greetings!

Like most gardeners I love to look at magazines and books for examples of garden layouts and pictures of plants with bountiful blooms and fruits. Last week, while taking a break from the heat and the work of weeding, I was attracted to an online article entitled "One Woman Creates Her Dream Garden". The photos were beautiful and the garden design captured my attention. My interest in the article soon faded when it was revealed that the inspiration for the garden came from the woman's pilgramage to the great gardens of Europe, the garden design was pulled together with the help of a designer, and the grounds were created and maintained by landscapers. In short, I just couldn't relate.

Sure, I would love to have more help to translate my garden dreams into reality and a trip to Europe would be fabulous. But I think I get just as much inspiration when you come to our market booth and tell me how good the tomatoes that you grew tasted. Many of you have shown me pictures of your gardens and it is wonderful to share your excitement and see the results created by the love of this work. I would love to share your garden photos with other hands-on gardeners. Send me your garden photos and I will share the real garden inspiration in our newsletter and website.
