Get your blueberry bushes off to a great start:
Pure Black Castings - Worm castings makes any soil a living soil with beneficial fungi and bacteria to enhance soil biology and help deliver nutrients to plant roots while building the plant's immune system. This important ingredient is the basis for our fertility program in the greenhouse and in the field. 5 lb. bag - $10.00; 40 lb. bag - $32.00
Mary's Mineral Mix - My special blend of high calcium lime, calcium phosphate, greensand from ancient sea bed deposits, certified organic alfalfa meal, azomite (over 72 minerals and trace elements!). This mix gives us great long term results and is a great way to feed the plants that feed us. 2.5 lb bag - $5.00

Greetings!
We will return for the regular season opening day at the Matthews Community Farmer's Market this Saturday. This is our fourth year at the BEST "producer-only" market in the Charlotte-metro area and we are looking forward to seeing old and new friends.
We will also have our plants and products at the Charlotte Regional Farmer's Market this Saturday from 8 until 1. If the Yorkmont Road market is your market of choice, come out and meet Jane, Shaun and my Ray for blueberry bushes and certified organic veggies for your garden, containers, edible landscape and home orchards. |

The calendar says "Spring" but the recent weather says "Summer", so we will be bringing the first of our tomato transplants for your garden. Our Certified Organic Tomato Transplants are available in 3" biodegradable pots filled with Mary's Mineral Mix, organic potting soil and Black Castings.
Other transplants available this week:
Lettuce: 3 varieties
Herbs: Thyme, Sage, Oregano, Parsley
Peppers: Corno Di Toro Italian Sweet
and more!
Spotlight on: SWISS CHARD
Swiss chard, along with kale, mustard greens and collard greens, is one of several leafy green vegetables often referred to as "greens". It is a tall leafy green vegetable with a thick, crunchy stalk that comes in white, red or yellow with wide fan-like green leaves. It is similar to spinach and beet greens in texture and flavor.
If vegetables got grades for traditional nutrients alone, Swiss chard would be one of the vegetable valedictorians. One cup of cooked Swiss chard provides the following daily values in only 35 calories:
Vitamin K: 306.3%
Vitamin A: 109.9%
Magnesium: 37.6%
Calcium: 10.2%
Vitamin C: 52.5%
Potassium: 27.4%
Iron: 22.0%
Vitamin E: 16.6%
Fiber: 14.7%
Manganese: 29.0%
