Windcrest Farm Newsletter
December 20, 2009
Greetings!

Today marks the shortest day of 2009 which means tomorrow the days begin to lengthen and our sights are set on spring planting.

Let Windcrest Farm help you with your 2010 growing seasons with custom grown, certified organic vegetable, herb and flower transplants.

We are located in USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 7 and began our onion transplants this month. Our greenhouse is ready to begin broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower transplants after the holiday season.

Book our bench space for our vegetable plug liners before January 10th and receive a 10% discount!

WHY USE WINDCREST FARM CERTIFIED ORGANIC VEGETABLE TRANSPLANTS?

  • Using quality transplants extends the growing season. Transplants are ready to set out immediately after reasonable risk of frost is past.
  • Transplants allow more efficient use of fertilizer and irrigation water during early growth stages.
  • Earlier harvests are attainable by using transplants vs. direct seeding in the field. Generally, an earlier harvest is more valuable to the market therefor costs associated with buying transplants can easily be recouped.
  • When transplants are planted in the field, plants are more uniform since they start off in the field at the same growing stage.
  • With our Custom Growing Program, any variety of seed can be ordered for transplant production. This give you a much wider selection of varieties than are available through commercially producted transplants which are limited to the most popular varieties.
  • Using Windcrest Farm Transplants eliminates the additional expense, expertise and time needed to run a greenhouse and coordinate sowing dates with planting dates in the field.
  • Tray sizes: 200, 128, 98, 72, 50, 3-packs, 3" pot, 4" pot, biodegradable DotPots (assorted sizes) (examples)

Sincerely,
