Windcrest Farm introduces our
Community Supported Plants (CSP)
Shares Program
Join our Community Supported Plants(CSP) program and receive 10% off plants for the 2009 season! Put your plant dollars towards supporting a local, family-owned, certified organic company that is committed to meeting your gardening needs with high-quality organic transplants! By investing in a CSP, you are purchasing "Plant Credits" to be redeemed during the 2009 season. Plus, purchase over $100 of "Plant Credits" and we will donate $20 worth of plants in your name to your favorite school or non-profit community garden program.
What is a CSP?
The Community Supported Plants program is modeled after the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) concept where customers invest in their farmer before the crop has been planted, then enjoy the bounty of the crop in it's due season. This investment shows support for the farmer's enterprise and provides income at a time when costs are high and sales are low.
Windcrest Farm grows healthy plants that provide healthy food for our community. By becoming a share member, you help support an endevour that in turn supports home gardeners and market farmers. In addition, your investment gives you a discount on your own vegetable, herb and flower transplants.
Why a CSP?
The herb plant you purchase in March or April is actually seeded in December. Tomato and pepper plants, which are tropical in nature, need a heated greenhouse to be ready for your garden in April. Our expenses are high this time of year with the cost of seed and heating, but our peak income season isn't for another few months. By extending a 10% discount to our customers we give the interest that borrowing money costs back to you, our customers, who have helped us to grow. When you invest in a CSP, you are investing in a local business that provides quality, certified organic transplants, support and education. You share in a unique greenhouse and nursery operation.
How the CSP program works:
Purchase your "Plant Credits" at a 10% discount through January 15, 2009. For example, if you purchase $50 worth of plant credits, you will pay only $45. You can purchase plant credits in any denomination. These plant credits are redeemable for plants anytime during 2009. You will receive your Community Supported Plant certificate and redemption instructions by email in early February.
CSP Share Benefits:
- Save 10% on your vegetable, herb and flower transplants
- Reserve your favorite plant varieties
- Special invitation Greenhouse Day tours and workshops
- Donate plants to your favorite school or non-profit community garden project through your purchase of $100 or more of "Plant Credits".
Thanks for your support!
