Heirlooom Tomatoes at Windcrest Farm

Greetings!
Organic Squash at Windcest Farm
The tomatoes are starting to come in fast and furious. Each day we are bringing in pounds of these wonderful summer fruits. Our largest tomato so far is a Brandywine weighing in at 1.34 lbs! It will be available along with many other varieties of heirloom beefsteak, slicing, plum, paste and cherry tomatoes on Saturday.

As you may know, lettuce is not usually available at the market during the hot summer months unless it has been grown indoors. We decided to try growing baby lettuce greens under our big shade trees and it is now ready to harvest (see picture on left). We will be bringing bags of the babies along with purple and red radishes to round out the ingredients for a good summer salad.

And of course we will have plenty of blueberries for fresh eating and freezing. If you are looking for blueberries by the gallon, please let us know and we will pick and pack for you.
