Greetings!
Lettuce at Windcrest Farm
It's time to break out your dancing shoes and tap your toes for a bit of rain this week please. We have put in the first of the field crops - onions, broccoli and fingerling potatoes (Purple Peruvian, Russian Banana and Yellow Finn) - and we need a sprinkle to get them off to a good start. However, like you we would like to keep the weekend clear and warm for our annual Shiitake mushroom inoculation workshop. If you have a few hours to spare this weekend and would like to learn how Shiitakes are grown, please join us. We have 125 freshly felled logs waiting to host that fungus amungus (see details below).

We have LOTS of lettuce starts available and our tomatoes are growing strong. At last count, we have 31 different varieties of tomatoes - slicers, plums, and cherries that are pink, purple, red, orange, green and yellow. Remember, the Market opens on April 14th! If you let me know what you are interested in, I will be sure to set plants aside for you.

Best Regards,
Mary
