Thank you!
It has been another eventful year in both our industry and here at Silverton. We have been very fortunate to continue to grow and expand to serve you better. As we build our lender platform, we find new and better ways to serve you and provide you with the best rates in the industry.
We want to take a moment, especially at this time of year, to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to our customers for entrusting us with your mortgage needs. We also want to thank our employees who always go above and beyond to give their very best to Silverton. We couldn't have reached our level of success without each and every one.
All of us at Silverton wish you and your family a very Happy Holiday and a New Year filled with health, happiness and success.

From Our President | |
In keeping with tradition, we are proud to announce our yearly countdown...
Top Ten Reasons Why We Love the Mortgage Business!!
#10. 15% in 15 minutes, that's nothing! We get to help you save hundreds monthly, thousands over time (so take that, you weird, little talking lizard!).
#9. We've gotten to see our industry in books (The Big Short), in movies (Too Big to Fail), and in the news (Someone is suing (fill in the name of bank here) today). Boy, are we popular!
#8. We are the one and only industry that does not have its own reality show. (I guess we aren't as interesting as the swamp people or moonshiners...wait a second, aren't they the same people?!)
#7. Thanks to the "No Doc" loan, we get to learn everything about our clients...every job they've had, everywhere they've lived, you name it...we get to know about it.
#6. New year=new terms! There's the HARP refinance (we have 1.0 and coming soon, 2.0). A home "flop" (apparently these are people who are buying a new house first, then walking away from the old house)...was "flips" now "flops"- who knew?! And, there's the new "cash in" refinance!
#5. Finding out daily that a new government agency now regulates what you do, how you do it, and that each agency doesn't necessarily talk to the other agency?! P.S. If anyone at the government happens to be reading this, we thank you for all the help and enjoy your role in our business .
#4. We got our own jingle this year--how cool is that? Warning: if you listen to it, you'll be singing it all day!
#3. Year after year, we get to be amazed by the support and kindness of our clients. Through all the madness that has been the mortgage industry in recent years, the one constant has been how wonderful our clients have been to us. We can't say thank you enough and we know that without you, we would have been another casualty of this tough industry.
#2. We love paperwork!!! (OK, so not really, but it helps us get through the day by saying that.)
#1. As we read Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" this time of year, another quote by Dickens rings true with us here at Silverton: "Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one, stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration." We believe in home and what it means. It can be an investment, but it is and always will be more than that. We certainly aren't qualified to help build a home (would not be pretty!...we're good at paperwork, not so good with hammers); but we are honored that we can be just a little part of what home means for our clients.
As always, we remain steadfast in our dedication to excellence in service and products that we provide to you. Thank you for allowing Silverton to assist you with your mortgage needs.
Regards,
Josh Moffitt

Employees of the Month |
Jobs Well Done!
Each month, Silverton employees vote for the team member who exemplifies the best of Silverton--the one who goes above and beyond what is expected, always has a positive attitude and works diligently and efficiently to get the job done.
Picking just one is a tough task indeed, as one employee stated: "Do you know how hard it is to pick just one person as so many do such a great job each and every month??" We agree! We have what we think is the very best team in the mortgage industry...anywhere!
September - Ceri Bramblett
Processor, Marietta
Ceri is an important member of Team Marietta and well respected by all of us at Silverton for her hard work, great customer service and always-positive attitude. You know you can count on Ceri Her co-workers give her high praise: "...she is fantastic, with an outgoing personality and great with our borrowers!" Ceri has been in the mortgage industry since 1986 and loves being a part of Silverton.
Ceri's life is full of family, friends and travel (when she's not at Silverton!). Her home is in Town Lake where she lives with her husband, daughter and step-daughter. Her family also includes her precious Beagle and Yorkie pups and two darling cats.
October - Jason StrainProduction Manager, Corporate Jason is a vital part of day-to-day operations and our management team. He began his career in the mortgage industry in 2003 as a Loan Originator. As a native of Atlanta coming from a family of builders and developers, he knew the regional market very well. He joined Silverton in 2007 as a Loan Originator but now, as Production Manager, his main function is to manage production from initial application through underwriting to closing and funding for all our offices and Loan Originators. Jason is a valuable resource for Silverton's Loan Originators, providing information on lenders, pricing scenarios, pipeline management, technology, etc. In addition, Jason spends time in the field visiting our offices to provide ongoing training and one-to-one assistance to help Loan Originators maximize technology and increase their efficiency. Jason continues to originate, licensed as a Georgia Mortgage Loan Originator. When nominated for Employee of the Month, one co-worker said of Jason, "He bleeds Silverton blue!" What more can we say! November - Carla Stubbs
Underwriter, Corporate
Ask any of Carla's co-workers and you'll probably hear the same thing: Carla is such a hard worker and so great to work with. Her dedication doesn't go unnoticed: there is hardly a day that goes by that Carla isn't the first one at Silverton and the last to leave...and she does it all with a smile!
Carla has a real joy for life and shares this with her family. She lives in Kennesaw with her husband, Charles. They have three grown children--their oldest daughter lives in DC, the youngest daughter is in college and their son lives in Paulding county. With her years of underwriting experience and winning attitude, you couldn't find a better underwriter and team member. Congratulations Ceri, Jason and Carla. Jobs well done! |

Focus on Giving Back |
It's Always the Season for Giving

The Silverton Foundation
We're moving right along! Josh Moffitt recently met with caseworkers at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Cancer Center & Blood Disorders Service. The meeting was very productive and the caseworkers were happy to hear about The Silverton Foundation and our mission to help families who are already facing difficult times with a hospitalized or critically ill child. The Silverton Foundation will be providing funding to help the identified families pay their rent or mortgage.
We are in the last phases of achieving our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Look for more information coming soon! In the meantime, if you would like more information or want to find out how you can help, please contact sammoffitt@silvertonmortgage.com.
Team Marietta Priscilla Nieves, Loan Originator
Priscilla has been active in volunteer work for many years. She is Past President and Founder of the Georgia Hispanic Network, one of the largest networks of Hispanic professionals.
Priscilla has also served as a Board Member of the National Latino Business Women's Association and a Board Member of the Cobb Association of Realtors, serving as an Ambassador.
Team Brunswick
Leighton Johnson, Branch Manager
Gretchen Johnson, Loan Originator
Team Brunswick stays involved in their community. This year, along with the local Coldwell Banker offices, they
co-sponsored a float in the Brunswick Christmas Parade.
The theme for their float was Sponge Bob. Yes, take a look: that's Brunswick Branch Manager, Leighton Johnson, as Mermaid Man; Gretchen Johnson, Loan Originator, as Barnacle Boy, along with their children as dressed as Shrimp.

Teddy Bears Bring Twice the Holiday Joy
Silverton, through Kay Jewelers, sponsored teddy bears that raise money for St. Jude's Children Hospital. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the bears goes to the hospital and the bears themselves go to an abused children's shelter in Gainesville, GA. In essence, these little teddy bears give twice the holiday joy; what could be better! Thanks to Amy Jenkins, Closer, for bringing this giving opportunity to our attention. |
