Our annual Circle of Hope Breakfast will take place on May 3rd, 8:30 to 9:30 am at the Boston Newton Marriott Hotel.

We invite you to join us to learn more about our peer support programs, and share the privilege of witnessing the courageous journeys of the children and families who take  

part in The Children's Room support groups.

Soccer Tournament, Sunday, June 26th 

 

We're pleased to announce  

the second annual Team Up Soccer Tournament!

Early registration ends April 15th! 


When: Sunday, June 26th, 2011
Where: Belmont Hill School, Turf Fields (Rain or Shine!)
Registration: $400.00 per team due May 1st.
Early bird registration: $375.00 due April 15th.
Note: Maximum of 12 players on roster. Each player receives a tournament t-shirt.

This, year the tournament includes men's teams played on a seperate field from the women. Each team should assign a "captain" to register the team and make a single payment.

In addition to great soccer, this fun-filled family day will include:
  • Food and refreshments, face painting, soccer shooting competitions, and more!
  • There will also be a wonderful silent auction going on all day.

This event, organized by Justine Bloch, is completely run by volunteers, and we are deeply appreciative. We hope you join us this year! All proceeds will benefit The Children's Room.

The Children's Room Workshop Series for professionals 

Supporting Emerging Adults Coping with Loss

Tuesday, May 10, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

It has been estimated that around 25 percent of traditionally aged college students have experienced the death of a family member or friend within the last year. This workshop will explore the intersection of typical young adult developmental issues and the experience of bereavement.

  • Registration Information: $100.00 per workshop or $90.00 for early registration.
  • Workshops take place at The Children's Room from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Continuing education credits available for social workers, counselors, and teachers.

Presented by Deborah Rivlin, MA

Director of Education & Training at TCR and adjunct professor at Mount Ida College.

Deborah has worked in the field of bereavement for 35 years.

Parent Alumni Group 

The Parent Alumni Group (PAG) is an active group of "alumni" adults, whose families have taken part in our support programs, and who have remained connected to the mission of The Children's Room. They meet regularly to support and give back to newly bereaved families in a variety of ways, including hosting regular discussion groups about the experiences and challenges of grieving children and families. PAG is open to all alumni families of The Children's Room.
