Art from the Heart |

Greetings!
As you know, the grief work that takes place in the walls of our home is brave and powerful. Although some of the grief process is expressed by children through activities or play, much is experienced through visual art. The artwork the children in our programs produce is moving and beautiful and we would like to share it with the community. During October children in our programs will be given the option to work on an entry for an art exhibit. Also, we will provide take home materials, if needed. Whether the art is created at TCR or at home, we will need all artists to return their work to TCR no later than Thursday, Oct 26th. This is open to all children, parents, volunteers and friends. All of the artwork will be included in a traveling art exhibit. We are looking for exhibit spots (especially outside of Arlington) where we can show some or all of these masterpieces. Any ideas about public display areas (whether at work, schools, restaurants, or other public spots) that you would recommend? Please let us know. The Education Director of Arlington Center for the Arts will select 8 pieces of the children?s art based on printability and general appeal to use in the production of boxed note cards. The back of each card will credit the young artist by stating their first name, age, and their reason for coming to The Children?s Room. We will use these cards to spread awareness of The Children's Room in the community. So let's get creative.
