Greetings!
Fall is in full swing at the Diocesan House, which means lots of important upcoming events. First up is next week's Program and Budget Hearings. The bishop transition we are in makes this year a very interesting one to attend. Bring your questions and come hear what your parish dollars help build for the whole of the diocese.
Speaking of the bishop transition, you can now RSVP online for the Ordination of the 13th Bishop of RI, on November 17th. Click here for the full ad.
The Jonathan Daniels House Board of Directors announced last week they are searching for a P/T Executive Director. In the fall of 2013 they plan to invite the first young adults to live in community and work alongside service organizations in South Providence. Learn more about the job and the project here.
Also, photos from the Celebration of Bishop Wolf's Ministry are up on our facebook page, along with a slideshow that highlights her ministry with us throughout the past 16 nearly 17 years. Take a look!
Blessings,
Ruth Meteer Communications Director Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island

Episcopal Charities 2012
Pulling together, we can make a powerful difference in 2012
We are happy to report that some great work has been done by our parish volunteers as they raise funds for those in need. Our current pledges total $300,000. That's nearly 70% of our $425,000 goal for the year. While this is good news, it is clear that there is still much work to be done. We encourage all parishes to reach 100% of their households. This is a key element to reaching our goal.
We are grateful to our dedicated volunteers who are working hard to encourage people in their parishes to participate in this great work. Congratulations to our donors for their support and commitment to helping people living on the edge.
Together we are "Feeding the Hungry" and are a powerful force for social and economic change. 100% of your gift goes directly to support agencies that provide desperately needed services:
- Relief, comfort and council for people in crisis
- Productive, safe places for inner city youth to spend time
- Shelters for homeless adults and their children
- Meals for the less fortunate
- Improved elderly care
- Sanctuaries for victims of domestic violence
And so much more!
For parishes that have not started their campaign, speakers from our funded agencies are available. Contact Peggy in the Charities Office at 401-274-4500 ext. 234 peggy@episcopalri.org if you would like to arrange for a speaker.
Ways you can Give:
- Respond when contacted by our parish representative.
- Send your donation with your name, address, phone # and parish to 275 North Main Street, Providence RI 02903.
- Donate online. Go to www.episcopalri.org/charities and visit the donation page.
