Greetings!
Note: the previous version of this email contained an error, LeaderResources publishes Journey to Adulthood, not Godly Play.

Dear (Contact First & Last Name),

As usual, the start of fall brings much change with it. The weather changes, the leaves change, school starts, schedules change, and this year there are many changes in the diocese too.

Excitement is building as we draw near to the November 17th Ordination of the 13th Bishop of RI, but it is important that we also express appreciation to our outgoing leader, Bishop Wolf. On September 23rd There will be a celebration of her nearly 17 years of ministry with us. If you haven't already RSVP'd you can still do so online here, where there is an option to make a donation towards her gift as well.

In other news, Bishop-Elect Knisely is now in RI and spending his days at the Diocesan House preparing for the transition to bishop.  He announced by letter this week that there will be an exciting new addition to diocesean staff: Linda Grenz CEO of LeaderResources (who publish the Journey to adulthood program) will be Canon to the Ordinary after the Ordination. Read the announcement letter on our blog

Check out the latest Risen Magazine online as well, if you haven't yet. The General Convention issue was released a few weeks ago and includes an interview with our Bishop Elect as well as a diary of RI deputy reflections.

Blessings,

Ruth Meteer

60 Years of "Feeding the Hungry"

By "Pulling Together" we form a team that makes life better for all

Rhode Islanders.

Family Van, Providence

is a promotion center with a mission to provide culturally sensitive, comprehensive health outreach programs designed to address health disparities in our community. The Family Van visits some of the poorest neighborhoods in Rhode Island and provides a relaxed, nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients feel comfortable discussing healthconcerns. Services are always free of charge and are provided by a

multicultural, bilingual staff experienced in outreach and education. www.womenandinfants.org

Samaritans, Providence

provides support to prevent suicide, through the internationally recognized

model of befriending people of all ages who are hopeless, alone, or

suicidal, as well as to caregivers and the grieving. They facilitate this

mission by maintaining an anonymous, free, statewide, volunteerbased,

philanthropically supported, 24-hour Hotline/Listening Line.

Adult Day Services of Westerly

provides a comprehensive daytime program, including nursing supervision,

medical monitoring, social services, and therapeutic activity

for cognitively and/or functionally impaired adults. By utilizing

adult day services, folks are able to delay the nursing home level of

care and remain in the community, connected to family and friends.

Many adults need day services in order for their loved ones to remain
