Greetings! Note: the previous version of this email contained an error, LeaderResources publishes Journey to Adulthood, not Godly Play.
Dear (Contact First & Last Name),
As usual, the start of fall brings much change with it. The weather changes, the leaves change, school starts, schedules change, and this year there are many changes in the diocese too.
Excitement is building as we draw near to the November 17th Ordination of the 13th Bishop of RI, but it is important that we also express appreciation to our outgoing leader, Bishop Wolf. On September 23rd There will be a celebration of her nearly 17 years of ministry with us. If you haven't already RSVP'd you can still do so online here, where there is an option to make a donation towards her gift as well.
In other news, Bishop-Elect Knisely is now in RI and spending his days at the Diocesan House preparing for the transition to bishop. He announced by letter this week that there will be an exciting new addition to diocesean staff: Linda Grenz CEO of LeaderResources (who publish the Journey to adulthood program) will be Canon to the Ordinary after the Ordination. Read the announcement letter on our blog
Check out the latest Risen Magazine online as well, if you haven't yet. The General Convention issue was released a few weeks ago and includes an interview with our Bishop Elect as well as a diary of RI deputy reflections.
Blessings,
Ruth Meteer Communications Director Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island
