Greetings!

This afternoon at the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island's annual Diocesan Convocation, The Rt. Rev. Geralyn Wolf announced her intention to retire near the end of 2012. By then she will be approaching her 66th birthday, the 36th year of her ordained ministry, and the 17th anniversary of her consecration as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island.

Visit our Blog to listen to a podcast of Bishop Wolf's emotive announcement, and hear a few words on what comes next from our Standing Committee president, The Honorable Scott Avedisian, Mayor of Warwick.

You can also read and/or download letters Bishop Wolf and Scott Avedisian have written to the Diocese. Please remember to share them with your Parish and any others who may be interested in the process as we move forward.

Blessings in this time of change,
Ruth Meteer
Communications Officer

30 hour famine logoEpiscopal Charities 2011

Congratulations and many thanks to our donors and volunteers for their support and commitment to heal the gaps, hurts, and brokeness of so many of our neighbors.  We are thankful that so many of you heard our second call, asking those who had already given to give again in 2010.

At year end, the Board of Trustees was delighted to report that grants totaling $383,000 were given to 96 agencies and programs within the Diocese and to the wider community.  With your help, we continue to be a link between healers and those needing healing.

Our economy continues to be burdensome and we are grateful that so many could continue the tradition of "People Helping People" that the Rt. Rev. John Seville Higgins began in 1952.

2011 Annual Campaign Plans Are Underway
