Greetings!
Heard the news? The Sudan is in the middle of a historic vote that could greatly affect our brothers and sisters in Ezo. They may soon have their own nation! Keep an eye on our facebook page or the EZO and RI blog for the latest updates. Don't forget about the Learn and Lead: Stewardship this Saturday. See if a group from your parish is going and tag along to help bring tools home to make parish life easier! A new issue of RISEN Magazine has been published and should appear in your mailboxes any day now. Can't wait? As usual you can read it online in our fun ebook reader or download it here.

Episcopal Charities 2010
2010 EPISCOPAL CHARITIES UPDATE
May we share all God's blessings in this Season of Thanksgiving.
Each year, as we get closer to Thanksgiving, we take time to reflect on our blessings and remember all the things that we should be grateful for. We are thankful for our health and the health of our families. We are thankful to have a safe place to live, to have enough to eat, money to pay the bills, and fill our cars with gas. We are blessed with the good health to be able to play with our kids and help them do homework. We are grateful that we can go to the doctor when we are not well and have access to medicine. We are fortunate to have time to relax, watch TV, read a book, or spend time with friends.
Well, that's the way it should be. Yet, during this economic crisis and high unemployment, it will be difficult for many to be thankful. Many will not have a job. Many will lose their home or have no place to rent. Many cannot buy food, pay for heat or gas. Many will lose their health benefits or be unable to pay the pharmacist for medicines.
With the work or our dedicated volunteers and generous donors, Episcopal Charities has been able to lessen this burden. We are very thankful.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we want you to know that you have been a gift to us. We wish to thank you for all the special gifts that have been given and the outstanding efforts that have made to fulfill the Episcopal Charities Mission. Because of you, social service agencies from Woonsocket to Westerly, Aquidneck to Apponaug will have food, heat, shelter healthcare, and other basic and special needs for people in fragile situations.
Together, we are keeping this great tradition and mission alive. Have a joyful and Happy Thanksgiving !
