Parish Prayer Partners (PPP) is a new program designed to support the Episcopal Ministry at the Adult Correctional Institution. We are seeking small teams of individuals from parish and church groups throughout the diocese who will commit to praying for the needs of a partner inmate who has recently completed a baptismal; or spirituality course. The team will encourage the spiritual growth of the inmate partner through correspondence and prayer, working as a team.
Requirements are simple - a willingness to keep a four month commitment, dependability and consistency, a non-judgmental attitude toward inmates, a daily discipline of prayer. Teams can be as small as 2 or 3 people; each team must have a designated leader who can attend a mandatory 2 hour training session with Chaplain Joyce Penfield and who will serve as a contact person for the group. The training session will hopefully occur within the next few weeks (late November, early December), depending on the interest and availability of groups and leaders, with the full program starting in the new year.
If you would like to be a part of this ministry or have questions please contact Rev. Dcn. Dorothy 'Ricky" Brightman, at St. Luke's Church, East Greenwich, 401-884-4116, stlukeseg.deacon@verizon.net.

The George Hunt HELP Center |
The George Hunt HELP Center was founded in 1990 as a daytime adjunct to services for the homeless provided by shelters, soup kitchens, and other agencies in Providence. Our mission is hospitality and we work to build community among the homeless to strengthen them individually and empower them collectively. We provide clean, seasonal clothing, toiletries, coffee and a place where an individual can rest and talk.
The Center will hold it's Annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, December 13, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. All are invited to come, meet the people we serve, and see the Center. Questions - call the Center at 861-9733 on weekday mornings. We are located at 121 Matthewson Street, across from the Mathewson Street Methodist Church, and right down the street from Grace Church and Hotel Providence. Deacons Buck Close and Ricky Brightman are Executive Director and Board Chair, respectively.
