News from Episcopal Charities

Episcopal Charities Fund Update
As of today, we are just one month into the 2007
Episcopal Charities Annual Campaign. And, what a
wonderful response we have had. Out pledges total
$200,000 as of our count today. Our goal is
$525,000. Volunteers continue to walk in the door with
more gifts and our mailbox is stuffed with gifts. Our
counting continues.
We are grateful and thankful for the generosity of all
the people in our parishes throughout the state. You
are giving thousands of others each day to begin a
new life. Gifts to Episcopal Charities help to support
and protect people in many different kinds of crisis;
take care of the elderly and give access to healthcare;
feed the hungry and shelter the homeless; and to
guide our youth in positive directions.
The pain of losing a loved one, tragically, is a fact of
life for many children. The
loss may come as a sudden or unexpected
nightmare. Fear . . . anger . . . confusion . . . lonliness,
brings radical changes to a child’s life.
FRIENDS WAY is there to help.
Adults with disabilities and individuals with
Alzheimer’s can remain in their
homes with their families and in the community for as
long as possible with
training and education. Caregivers can receive respite
and continue working,
knowing their loved ones are cared for.
CORNERSTONE ADULT SERVICES is there to
help.
Homeless and/or indigent men, women and children,
often unable to pay for rent
or food, do not have resources to pay for prescriptions
or eyeglasses
to maintain their health, while struggling in many other
ways. Stable health is
important in seeking and keeping employment.
AMOS HOUSE is there to help.
These are just a few agencies that are there, working
hard every day to help so many who are in fragile
situations. Your gift to Episcopal Charities will do so
much for so many. If you have not make a donation,
please think about all your neighbors throughout
Rhode Island who will have a better life.
You can make a contribution today by;
Contacting your parish representative for
Episcopal Charities
Going online at
www.episcopalri.org/charities
Use the tear-out and return envelope from
the brochure mailed to you earlier
Mail your donation to Episcopal Charities,
274 North Main Street,
Providence, RI 02903
If you have any questions, call the Charities Office, 274-
4500. Peggy, ext. 234, or Jack, ext. 233 will be happy
to assist you.
We thank our volunteers and donors for their very big
part in continuing this important work to make our
state a better place to live and thrive.
“Beautiful things happen when, like snowflakes ,
we join together.”
A Blizzard of Support Has Begun!
Sincerely,
The Board of Trustees and Staff of Episcopal Charities
