The All Saints' Memorial Church September 11th
Scholarship
This annual scholarship was established by All
Saints'
Memorial Church as a response to the events of
September 11, 2001.
Thousands of people had their lives shattered by the
attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
The effects will be felt throughout the world for years
to come. Such a tragedy should never again occur,
and the parishioners of All Saints' Memorial Church,
like all people of conscience, must work to make
certain that it does not. Since our parish also feels it
must minister to the wider community, it has
established a scholarship to accomplish both
purposes.
Each year the church will award a scholarship of
$500.00 to a graduating high school senior. Any
student who is a parishioner of an Episcopal
congregation in the Diocese of Rhode Island may
apply. Applicants for this scholarship must plan to
attend and be accepted in a college or university for
the following academic year.
If you have internet access and Microsoft Word, the
application can be downloaded from our website at
www.allsaintsmemorial.com. You can also request
an
application by calling the parish office at 751-1747.
Applications are due by April 1, 2007

2007 Episcopal Charities

THE EPISCOPAL CHARITIES FUND OF RHODE
ISLAND
Our Annual Campaign for 2006 ended with $495,000
in pledges from our very generous donors throughout
the Diocese. Unfortunately, we came up short of our
goal of $535,000. Each year, Episcopal Charities
receives a large number of requests from social
service agencies, totaling over $1 million dollars. All
of these agencies are valid to our mission statement
and guidelines and are helpful to those in need. It is
very difficult to refuse and our committees work hard to
make the very best decisions, knowing that we cannot
fulfill all requests.
We want to thank all our donors and volunteers who
make our fund raising so successful. Each day,
thousands of people continue to be assisted in a
variety of ways because of your generosity and
commitment to helping our neighbors who need so
much. It is our hope that you will continue this
generosity and that others will follow in your
example.
Your dedication to the efforts of Episcopal Charities is
deeply appreciated.
KICKING OFF 2007 ANNUAL
CAMPAIGN
As we finish one campaign, we begin the next.
Episcopal Charities need your help more than ever.
The people of Rhode Island need you help more than
ever. The need for good services and caregivers
continues to increase. The health and well being of
our neighbors across the state depends on your
generosity.
Please don’t miss our advertisement in the next
RISEN to see the theme for the 2007 Campaign. Also,
look for our brochure in the mail. For the first time, you
can respond by using the formin the brochure or by
donating online at
www.episcopalri.org/charities.
As always, a volunteer from your church will be
available to accept your donation. Speaker Sundays
are scheduled for March 11 and March 18. At that
time, a representative from one of our funded
agencies will be speaking in your church to let you
know the story of their agency and story of Episcopal
Charities.
WHY GIVING TO THE EPISCOPAL CHARITIES
FUND
IS THE BEST WAY TO HELP THOSE IN NEED:
Every dollar donated is used to address
the critical issues of our time. Fund raising costs are
covered by a special endowment.
We do the research – so you know your
money is going to worthwhile causes and well run
agencies.
We follow up to ensure that grants are
being used effectively and as intended.
The majority of agencies supported are
small; our grants have a significant impact on their
ability or offer specific services and programs.
