SCM's eBay Motors Catch of the Week:
1964 Porsche 356C Coupe
This 356C is described as a "strong runner with no issues." It has new brakes, and the engine was recently overhauled to the tune of $7,090. Everything is said to work, "even the windshield wipers!" The seller states that the only flaws are a hairline paint crack above the driver's-side rear wheel and tired carpet in need of replacement. The car has been fitted with a racing seat and Momo steering wheel, although the original driver's seat is included. Click here to see the listing. |

| The Monte Shelton Northwest Classic Rally
The 23rd Annual Monte Shelton Northwest Classic Rally will take place July 28-31. The long-running event is a celebration of classic cars, and is conducted over the course of four days. The rally begins in Portland, OR, and is organized around a traditional time-speed-distance rally, but many participants don't worry about the rally at all. Pre-1981 collector cars and their owners are warmly invited. Click here to read more. |
| New California Mille Event Pasadena Art Center Monterey Tour
What better way to get to Monterey than a two-day drive on great back roads from Pasadena - and then arrive just in time for the Car Week festivities? SCMer Martin Swig of California Mille fame is putting together just such a tour on August 14-15, and it's also a benefit for Pasadena-based The Art Center College of Design, which trains many world-class car designers. The event is open to cars of any year that have design merit. Cost of the Art Center Monterey Tour is $200 - meals and one night at the historic Paso Robles Inn are not included - plus a $1,000 donation to the Art Center College of Design. Keith's Corner: June 14th
The Portland Art Museum has never looked so good. All 16 cars for the Allure of the Automobile have been moved from their transports into the museum, and even the august New York Times took notice. SCM has been very involved with helping the museum meet and exceed its $700,000 fundraising goal, and SCMers have been generous with their support. The exhibit runs through September 11; if you need an excuse to come to Portland, this exhibit should suffice. Stop by SCM World Headquarters while you are here and pick up your SCM cap; if you make arrangements in advance we'll even loan you a sports car or two from the SCM collection to take a day trip to Mount Hood and Timberline Lodge. Next: Click to read about Alex's summer of driving-school fun. |
More Classic Cars Available at eBay Motors
Every week, SCM will bring you a collection of vintage cars and four project cars currently for sale at eBay Motors. Don't get sniped! Place your bids today.
