The SCM team will be out in force at Bonhams & Butterfields' auction of the Wally Lewis Collection, happening this Saturday, June 11, in Portland, Oregon. (Here is a map.) 1971 Lamborghini/Bizzarrini Targa

This car is said to be a one-off creation, using an original Bizzarrini body on a Lamborghini 400GT chassis. It's claimed to have been built after the close of the Bizzarrini factory in 1969, using a leftover body shell bought by former employee Sig. Giancarlo Reali. After a number of years sitting idle, the seller purchased the car and hired Reali to complete it. All work is said to be documented. It needs some additional work before being roadworthy, but it would certainly stand out at any Italian concours. See the listing here.

In Memoriam: Bill Dobson

Bill Dobson, a long-time illustrator for Road & Track and a friend to many in the collector car world, died on May 21 after suffering a stroke on May 7. He was 75.

Dobson was born in Bethany, OK and attended Pasadena College and the Art Center College of Design, where he earned a degree in Automotive Industrial Design. Click here to continue reading.

Unseen Collection Discovered After 40 Years

For 40 years Monsieur Serre kept six motor cars tucked away in his garage - four of which are very important. Collectors and enthusiasts searched for their whereabouts, but to no avail. M. Serre died some years ago, but it was just a few months ago that Artcurial Motorcars discovered the collection. All of the cars are in their original state, untouched since 1974. Keith's Corner: From Rocky Roads to Shakespeare's Lair

'Tis the season to be rambling and rumbling, and Team SCM in all its various guises is on the road. Two weekends ago, we joined the Pacific Coast Rover Club for their annual Memorial Day outing in Central Oregon. Just getting there proved more exciting that we thought it would be - Wendie, her 17-year-old son Drew, our 4-year-old Bradley, and I left Portland in our 1989 Range Rover Classic around 4 pm on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Our timing was poor, as it took us two hours to go 45 miles to Salem - normally a 45-minute trip. We probably should have been in compound low as we inched along.
