2011 Environmental Accomplishments at McCourt Label
Earth Hands2011 was  successful in our endeavors to become a leaner and greener company.

The results for the McCourt's three primary ISO 14001 environmental programs of 2011 were as follows. The hazardous waste reduction program saw the days to generate 1 gallon of hazardous waste go from 5.4 days in 2010 to 7.2 days in 2011 netting a 25% improvement. The recycling- reuse program had a goal of recycling or reusing 50,000 pounds of landfill potential items. The company is very pleased to have kept 55,534 pounds of items out of the landfill for the year of 2011. Finally, the company instituted a program to measure its carbon footprint during 2011.

The company has three new environmental programs in place for 2012. The hazardous waste generation program has been continued and has set a new target at 9 days to generate one gallon of hazardous waste. The second program is a continuance of the solid waste reduction program with a new target of 140,000 pounds of items that will not make their way to the landfill. Finally, the company will install a sub-metering system which will provide data to better utilize electricity.
