McCourt Installs Kodak Digital Plate System
McCourt Label recently added the Kodak Flexcel NX Digital Flexographic System to its growing list of state-of-the-art printing and converting equipment. "The Kodak system enhances our capabilities as we aim to produce printed labels of unmatched quality and value," states Sharon Zampogna, McCourt's VP of Sales. "We can achieve results above and beyond traditional flexography."
Our completely integrated Kodak system includes:
- Flexcel NX Thermal Imaging Layer
- Trendsetter NX Imager
- Flexcel NX Laminator
- Flexcel NX Digital Flexographic Plates
- Prinergy PowerPack Workflow Software
- DigiCap NX Screening
This system delivers printing plates with sturdy, flat-topped dots as small as ten microns in size. Increased density of print, tonal range and contrast are consistently and repeatedly obtainable. Along with the innovative dot structure, Kodak's DigiCap NX Screening applies a microscopic surface texture to system plates. This process improves ink transfer efficiency, which is especially useful for smooth, high-density ink coverage on film substrates and in large areas of solid ink color. It also allows for an expanded process color gamut.

On February 18, 2011, McCourt Label underwent a quality management system surveillance audit by NSF International Strategic Registrations. The audit was a success in that there were zero non-compliances found. According to our NSF-ISR representative, "[McCourt] is well managed and always looking for and finding ways to improve customer satisfaction and competitiveness." It was recommended that McCourt's quality system remain registered to ISO 9001:2008 with no changes to our certification.
ISO 9001:2008 is an international standard for establishing a business quality management system. ISO 9001:2008, recognized throughout the world, is applicable to any manufacturing and service organization and provides a focus on system performance and ongoing improvement. Created by the International Organization for Standardization, ISO 9001:2008 is based on eight quality management principles: customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement, fact based decision-making and mutually beneficial supplier relationships. When fully adopted, these principles have been proven to enhance organizational performance.
At McCourt, we've established the following policy associated with our ISO 9001:2008 quality system:
We will strive to meet or exceed the expectations of our customers, both internal and external, by continuously improving quality, service, delivery and product value through training and involvement of all employees. |
