Oana Bogdan
Oana was nominated for an Emmy Award for her work on "Justified" in the Outstanding Art Direction For a Single-Camera Series category. Her work can also be seen on the big screen in Total Recall (2012) for art direction on the hover cars, helicopters, and several sets. Jessika Satori
Jessika, CEO and Director of Audacious Aperture, has 2 of their films nominated for four awards at the Action on Film Festival in Monrovia, CA. Appellation has been nominated for Best Dramatic Short Script and So Shall You Reap has been nominated for Best Dialogue, Best Music Composition, and for the Without A Box Best Script. The festival runs August 17th-25th.
Cécile Delepière
Cécile's short film, Almost There, has been officially nominated at the LA Indie Film Festival. The Screening is Monday September 10th at 5:00 pm at the Los Feliz 3 Cinemas, 1822 N. Tiffany Yen
The narrative short Casual has been accepted into the LA Shorts Fest (Sept. 6th-13th) and will be making its world premiere at this Academy-qualifying festival. Roe Moore
Roe, (Actress/Comedienne), brings together 8 CO-based actors for a night of personal stories, theatre, and musical performances at Second City Hollywood on August 22nd to raise funds to help the victims and families in the theatre shooting in Aurora. | | Debra Martin Chase, Producer and WIF Panelist, was interviewed by Deborah Roberts this week on ABC's Nightline about her new film SPARKLE, which will be released in theatres this Friday, August 17th. SPARKLE is about a trio of church choir singing sisters in 1968 Detroit that rocket to fame only to learn that the road to stardom may break their family apart. MARILYN ATLAS is an award-winning producer and personal manager, and is equally at home in the worlds of film, television, and live theater. Among her credits as film producer are "Real Women Have Curves" for HBO, which won the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival, "A Certain Desire," starring Sam Waterston, and "Echoes," which won the Gold Award at the Texas International Film Festival. In addition to producing a variety of programming for the cable/ pay TV market, Marilyn has served as a production consultant on the film "Call Me." She was also involved as a producer in the development of the MOW "Nightwalker" and "Playing for Keeps."
MARY LOU BELLI is an Emmy Award winner, producer, writer, and director. On BET, she returns this season directing "Reed Between the Lines," and "The Game," the spinoff to "Girlfriends" which she directed for 7 consecutive seasons. She directed the pilot of the Web series "3Way," winner of 2 Logo awards and The AfterEllen.com 2008 Visibility Awards for Best Lesbian/bi Web Series, which is about to start its second season. With over 125 episodes to her credit, Mary Lou directed "Living with Fran," starring Fran Drescher, "Misconceptions," starring Jane Leeves, and "Eve," starring hip hop artist Eve.

This month's group will start with a vocal and physical warm up, some improvisation, and then exploring animals as an approach to character and scene work. Please bring any monologues or scenes that you may be working on. If you don't have any text please just bring yourself!
The Actors Group is facilitated by Mhairi Morrison, an actress and comedienne passionate about protecting the sanity of performers while at the same time exploring the mysteries of play. Her training includes studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, and L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
Networking starts at 6:30 pm in the café (ground floor) Workshop begins at 7:00 pm in the session room (third floor) (Free parking after 6:00 pm in the building lot)
