    Introduction to Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a fast growing, highly-effective form of holistic health care with over 3,000 years of recorded history of effectiveness. Currently acupuncture is used by 2 billion people as their primary form of heath care. This presentation is designed both for those considering Acupuncture as a treatment option for the first time, as well as for current acupuncture patients. Participants will learn how acupuncture can be best used as preventative medicine to help you avoid many of the chronic illnesses that are pervasive in our current culture and life-style.

    Topics covered will include:
    · Principles of holistic natural health care
    · Using acupuncture to maintain vital health and prevent illness
    · Common conditions treated by acupuncture
    · Why eliminating symptoms does not always eliminate the problem
    · Research and current trends in medicine and healthcare

Pre-register for the class by calling Alaska Center for Acupuncture at 745-8688 Space is limited, so call early!

Experience the Health Benefits of Meditation:
A daily meditation practice, combined with Acupuncture, Yoga/Qi Gong, whole foods and adequate rest are the core components of longevity and vital health. The purpose of our meditation group is to set the groundwork for each person to develop a daily meditation practice.

Like Acupuncture, Meditation strengthens the connection to the depths within and helps to cultivate focus, clarity, creativity, stamina, vitality, emotional stability and mindfulness in all actions. A daily meditation practice also expands one's sense of connectedness to the natural rhythms of life. Current research affirms what saints, sages, athletes, artists, and successful businesspeople already know: Regular meditation results in less stress, more ease and greater enjoyment of life amidst the many challenges of modern living.

Alaska Center for Acupuncture's monthly meditation group is open to the community and meets the second Tuesday of every month from 7-8 PM. Please call 745-8688 or email: info@alaskaacupuncture.com to reserve a space. The next session will be Tuesday, November 13th at 7pm.

We have made some changes to the group format which are detailed in the flyer below:

    Group Meditation Flyer

Starting this session, we will be asking participants for a suggested donation of $20 for the meditation. Donations will go to The Smile Train - a non-profit organization that funds and performs cleft lip and palate surgeries in developing countries. We picked The Smile Train because 100% of donations go directiy to surgeries and programs - not to organizational overhead. $250 funds one surgery - so with a small group of 12 or 13 people, we can make a huge difference in the life of one child.

Please feel free to pass this information on to friends or family members who might be interested in participating in the monthly group meditation sessions.
