We are now well into Year 2 of the Incentive Program and the time for action is NOW! Procrastination will be costly! The first year reimbursement provides $18,000 to physicians. You will not be able to qualify for the first year reimbursement if you do not begin attestation before October 30th. Most practices are ready to start the attestation process about 5 months after initial training and implementation, so you can see you are rapidly running out of time. Waiting will mean you will not be able to meet this years deadlines and your reimbursement will be reduced to $13,000; a loss of $5,000.  The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted a series of new videos about the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs to the CMS YouTube channel.
At the 2011 American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Conference, CMS filmed seven conference attendees, who provided their stories about EHRs and the EHR Incentive Programs. In the series, the testimonial videos discuss topics such as benefits of EHRs and navigating the Incentive Programs.
