The Challenge of Finances & Facilities

Next Button

The problem with growth, especially rapid growth, is that it usually creates headaches... sometimes BIG headaches.

Rapid growth usually means that new church leadership finds itself wrestling with a host of facility questions as well as their accompanying financial challenges. Solutions often boil down to our ability to:

  • think creatively about how we do ministry;
  • think strategically about how we prepare for anticipated transitions; and
  • help our people think biblically about finances and stewardship.

The Solution:  ThinkNext To help our church planting leadership teams prepare for these challenges, Nexus and our friends at Golf Course Road Church of Christ, have arranged for our teams to enjoy some unfiltered, informal, and personal time with two nationally recognized leaders who speak powerfully into these two challenges.

Special Speakers: Doug Crozier and Barry Cameron will be leading a 2-day workshop for our teams. Doug recently founded the Solomon Foundation - an institution that specializes in helping new churches (www.thesolomonfoundation.org.) Barry is the senior pastor of Crossroads Christian Church, in Grand Prairie TX (www.crossroadschristian.net.) Barry has a powerful record of helping people catch a vision for God's prescriptions related to stewardship finances.

Update from the Front Lines:
Sports Camp 2012

Ranchland Sports Camp

Do you ever wonder "Is Anybody Out There," and if so, how do we connect and get to know them.   We launch new churches because we believe eternity hangs in the balance for someone today.  But the challenge is getting connected with the "someones" out there.  Ranchland Christian Church (October 2010 plant) recently took steps to connect with several "someones."  They lived out their mission statement to "Love God, Love Others" by sponsoring a sports camp July 18-23 for kids ages K-5th grade. Over 80 volunteers showed love to 160+ families and 249 young campers.

 "Campers were brought a brief devotional thought each night and the final night ended with the Gospel being presented to the campers and their families.  We ended our incredible week with a huge party consisting of bounces houses, a petting zoo, snow cones, popcorn and a free hot dog dinner.  We raffled off numerous items with the grand prize being a boys  and girls bike.   We were most encouraged when we had 10 first time families visit Ranchland the next morning."  Jason Duke, Pastor

2 Nights @ a Bed & Breakfast - Free!

Jesus told us what our biggest church-planting challenge will be - finding leaders. That's why he instructed us to pray for leaders... first and foremost. So - in addition to praying for leaders we've decided to resort to a different and historically effective method of finding potential planters: Bribery! Yes - we admit it... If you put us in contact with a leader who passes assessment and ends up hired to plant a church with us we'll reward your good behavior with 2 Nights at a Bed & Breakfast. Not complicated - simple - so don't delay... who do you know who has the skills and talents to be starting a new church? Don't let someone else beat you to your B&B retreat... put us in contact.
