Dear Friend of District J, Spring is here, and for many of us, that means the spring allergy season has begun. To help alleviate the sneezing and sniffling, try a few of these tips:
- Talk to your doctor about medications and treatments that may ease your symptoms
- Do a thorough spring cleaning - windows, book shelves and air conditioning vents collect dust and mold throughout the winter that can provoke allergy symptoms
- Avoid outdoor activities during peak pollen times, typically from 10am to 4pm
- Wash bedding weekly in hot water to remove allergens
- Keep pets off of furniture and out of the bedroom. Pollen can cling to the dog or cat after being outside
I hope this spring finds you well! Keep reading to learn about upcoming festivals, celebrations, and other events around District J and Houston this spring.
Sincerely,
Mike Laster Council Member, District J
