Play 4Kay
The LeTourneau women's basketball team has designated its game against the University of the Ozarks on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 5:30pm, as its Play 4Kay game.
Play 4Kay, an initiative to raise breast cancer awareness and funding in campuses and communities, is now in its fifth season. The YellowJackets will honor all breast cancer suvivors of the LeTourneau community during halftime of the women's game. The team will also recognize all cancer survivors.
Formerly known as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Pink Zone, Play 4Kay is named in honor of Kay Yow, the longtime women's basketball coach at North Carolina State who lost her courageous battle with breast cancer in 2009.
The LeTourneau athletics department invites cancer survivors in the LeTourneau community to participate in this special ceremony and game. Please contact Vickie Rogers (VickieRogers@letu.edu) or sports information director Alan Wiederhold (AlanWiederhold@letu.edu) if you plan to attend.

Like Movies?
The Yellowjacket and The Communicator want to hear your thoughts. We'll even pay for your ticket. Here's how it works. - Go see a movie
- Save the ticket stub and the receipt
- Write a review about it-a quick plot summary (no spoilers), what you thought about it, (what was good and bad) and what kind of content is in it (how appropriate is it for our audience and why)
- Submit it to the yellow-jacket (steveconn@letu.edu)
- If we chose to publish your review it will appear in the Yellow Jacket and the Communicator
- Bring your receipt and stub to the student affairs office and we will reimburse you for the ticket.
Right now we would like to see a review for the film "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" so if you go to see it, please let us know how it was. (Note: This film is rated PG-13 and LeTourneau University does not necessarily endorse any content or themes in this film. Viewing this film for any reason must be your decision.) |
