Bus Riders React Reflections on the Spring Tour
"I hoped to learn more about the efforts to create more affordable housing options in the Des Moines area and get a sense of results to date and future challenges...and I did! It was great to see firsthand how the various public and private organizations work together to tackle affordable housing issues while sharing a common goal. They each have service niches that respond to the variety of people, needs and situations we have in our community.
The Polk Co. Housing Trust Fund really did a great job creating a bus tour that covered a lot in a short amount of time. I also appreciated the handout with properties and statistics as well as the personal stories about the people and situations tied to those homes and neighborhoods. Very helpful. It was a great bus tour and I would definitely do it again!"
