Students Awarded Fraedrich Memorial Scholarship

Olivia Chambers and Rebecca Fuller of Athens County and Jill Switzer of Hocking County have each been awarded David S. Fraedrich Memorial Scholarships for the Hocking College School of Nursing 2012-13 academic year.

Chambers was awarded $2,500, and also received the scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year.  She participated in the Post-Secondary Options Program during her high school years, in which she was home-schooled.  Fuller was awarded $2,000, and is pursing a nursing degree because she has a passion for working with people.  Switzer, also awarded $2,000, has recently graduated from high school, and participated in the Post-Secondary Options Program during her senior year.

In memory of David S. Fraedrich, the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville, in conjunction with the Hocking College School of Nursing, established this scholarship to honor and pay tribute to his life. The creation of this permanent scholarship recognized Mr. Fraedrich's spirit of community service through his involvement and dedication.
