Your First SCommencement phototep Toward Graduation

As you begin or continue your academic career at Hocking College, I think forward to the day all of you will graduate. Graduation is the best day in the annual life of a campus.  It is an opportunity for faculty, staff, students, families and friends to celebrate the outstanding achievements of graduates who have overcome all manner of adversity to receive an academic credential that no one can ever take away.

Remember the generations of those who came before you, especially those who once held the dream that the people of southeastern Ohio deserved a safe harbor, a refuge where their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families could thrive.  Their dreams became brick and mortar, and now stand as Hocking College.

The fact that you are here today should prove to you that learning never ends.  To turn away from it is to forsake one of life's greatest joys and responsibilities.  I hope you know how immensely proud I am of your extraordinary courage in taking this first step toward your graduation day.

President, Hocking College
