Budget Advisory Council Members Selected
The Hocking College Budget Advisory Council (BAC) is an advisory body to the President on current and multi-year budget issues, funding priorities and policies having a financial impact. The BAC promises to benefit both the College and its own members.  It will improve transparency of our financial decision-making, help the College to build better budgets from a broader base of knowledge, and allow its members to view the College in a very different way, potentially leading some members to consider taking on other roles in the College's future.

The BAC is chaired by the Vice President of Financial Services, with the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs/Provost and the Interim Vice President of Administrative Services serving as Vice-Chairs. Council members are appointed by the President and are expected to serve as representatives of the entire College community as they conduct Council business. They communicate to and provide feedback from the campus on matters that impact the long-term financial health of the institution. The Chair and Vice-Chairs communicate BAC recommendations to the President.

The duties and responsibilities of the Budget Advisory Council (BAC) include the following:
  • To advise the President on matters of:
  1. Current and multi-year budget issues
  2. Funding priorities

OEA/HCEA Support Staff Group Sponsors Friday Night Life Meal

Cindy Dillinger sends kudos to the group of Hocking College employees and their relatives who assisted with the Friday Night Life meal on March 18, 2011. The OEA/HCEA Support Staff group at Hocking, in trying to reach out to the surrounding community, chose to sponsor the meal for Good Works at The Plains United Methodist Church.

Cindy sends her thanks to Kim Coy and her children - son Byron and his girlfriend Jordan; and Kim's daughters - Chloe, Molly, and Natalie. "Thank you so much for stepping up and helping out on Friday night. I don't know what we would have done without you guys!  Byron, you are one awesome dishwasher," she said.

Other members to thank include Jodie Whitlatch, Kevin Moore and Alison Alder.   The local OEA representative Sarah Drinkard and her friend Linda, also from the OEA, provided some additional helping hands.

The group fed over 130 people, and plan to sponsor another Friday Night Life meal in October,  "It was truly a heartwarming experience," Cindy commented.
