TRIP PLANNING
Frozen Moose Lake
Now is the time when many of you are beginning to make your plans for your upcoming canoe trip.  You are setting around the table pulling out your maps of places that you have been, reliving the adventures of the past, deciding which route you will take this year.  Should we follow the old familiar route, or should we venture out and try something new?  It is fun and exciting to make these plans.  Some of you have never been before or only a few times and as you look at the maps and at this vast wilderness it can be very overwhelming.  Which route is best for my group?  Where is the best fishing along each route?  What about a base camp and if so where is a great spot?  If these are questions that you may be having, give us a call, that's why we are here.  Members of our crew have spent many hours in the parks and know the routes, fishing spots and campsites very well.  We would love to help you decide which adventure is right for you.

Timing is Everything

One of the most common questions we get is; When's the best time to come? Unfortunately there isn't a single best answer for this question. There are many different factors to consider. The first question you should ask yourself is; What do I want out of this trip? Things like weather, fishing, insects and group makeup all play into this decision...not to mention just getting everyone's schedule to align. So, in order to help in some small way, we offer this "Timing" chart with some general information along with a couple interesting tidbits. Keep in mind that it is a general guideline to seasonal events.

Timing Chart

Feel free to contact us for fine tuning on dates & things, too! One should remember that there is no such thing as average.  Sometimes the easiest answer to "When's the Best Time to Come Up" is, of course, whenever you can get away!
