Happy New Year! In this time of change and rebirth, we've decided to reinvent the format of our newsletter. Instead of a lengthy, all encompassing newsletter once a month, it will be a short and sweet update on the latest happenings of one program at Third Level sent out twice a month. In shortening the newsletter, we hope that you find it more enticing and enjoyable to read.
PAYS is the Partnership Against Youth Suicide is Third Level's program charged with creating awareness and facilitating trainings about suicide prevention amongst 10-24 year olds.
Do you have a young adult in your life that you area concerned about? Are you, or someone you love, a college student challenged with the pressures of academic success and the questions that surround transitioning into adulthood? The depths of winter bring long hours of studying and exams, and with them come questions about life's purpose. Wondering if you've chosen the right path in life can be a tough and sometimes downright depressing question. And if that exam doesn't go so well...then what?*
The Jed Foundation is an organization designed to help. Their mission is "to work nationally to reduce the rate of suicide and the prevalence of emotional distress among college and university students."
Check out their website at www.jedfoundation.org for some great resources.
