- Keep it short: The average length of e-mail marketing messages keeps getting shorter. Target 700-800 words. People are busy and don't want to read long messages.
- Use bulleted lists: A famous survey from Jakob Neilsen found that only 11% of people read e-mail messages carefully. Bulleted lists allow you to organize your message and hit the reader with keywords that catch their attention.
