It's Getting Close!
Don't Miss These Conference Deadlines
Reserve your discounted hotel room by this Sunday, October 14. We have reserved a block of rooms at four nearby hotels and arranged free shuttle bus service to and from the conference center. However, these discounted rates are only available until October 14. We expect lodging in Madison will be expensive and hard to find due to a home football game the same weekend, so please don't delay! To reserve now, or for links to other lodging options, please visit our lodging page. If you'd like to save money, visit our forums to connect with others about room or ride sharing.
Register by October 31. Walk-ins will be accepted, space permitting, but pre-registering will reserve your space at the workshops, events, and meals you want to attend. Pre-registration and pre-payment will save you time at conference check-in.

Growth of Biodynamic Education Program
We're thrilled to announce that the Kalliopeia Foundation has awarded the Biodynamic Association a $25,000 grant to expand the scope of our educational programs, providing more opportunities to farmers, aspiring farmers, and other individuals to discover the sacred dimension of agriculture through biodynamics. Look forward to updates on the program from Thea Maria Carlson, our Education Program Coordinator. |
Supporting Biodynamic Research
There's a lot in the works regarding biodynamic research! A group of researchers will meet before our conference to provide and receive feedback on research pre-proposals, explore possibilities for collaboration, and discuss overarching philosophical questions. During the conference, there will also be a poster session for future biodynamic research topics and a workshop on Results of Research with the Biodynamic Preparations. In addition, we have created a biodynamic research section in our forums for connecting with others about shared research interests, collaboration, and related resources. Over the coming months, we aim to compile existing and current research materials and make these more accessible through our website, with the goal of providing a foundation upon which future research can build. Find out more about our research program here. |
Yes on 37 and Labeling of Genetically Engineered Foods
If passed, Prop 37 will make California the first U.S. state to require labeling of genetically engineered foods. As Election Day nears, the debate is heating up, and opponents are spending millions to defeat the effort. We're proud to endorse the California Right to Know initiative and encourage you to support the campaign and help spread the word.

Raise the Barn
The Pfeiffer Center, one of our partner organizations, has a new Kickstarter campaign to restore their historic red dairy barn: "[It] is the iconic cornerstone of our operation: Home to the hay and gear for Captain and Eva, our spirited team of Haflinger draft horses, it's also our workshop and storage space. But the years have taken a toll and it needs work now." The campaign ends November 1.
