Zinniker Farm and Nourished by Nature LLC (NbN) Update

In a striking setback for property rights and consumer choice, a Wisconsin judge issued an order on September 9 that owners of cows do not have a fundamental right to consume milk from their own cows. The order was issued by Dane County Circuit Court Judge Patrick J. Fielder in response to a motion to clarify an August 12 ruling denying a motion by the Zinniker Family Farm, Nourished by Nature LLC (NbN), NbN members Robert Karp and Gayle Loiselle, and the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund for a judgment that the boarding agreement was in compliance with Wisconsin law. Join the Right2Know March!

Right2Know MarchAs you read this, an unprecedented coalition of individuals, organizations, and business from all over the country is taking part in the Right2Know March. Robert Karp, our executive director, was there for the launch in New York City on October 1, and Rebecca Briggs, our communications coordinator, will be there for the culmination at the White House in Washington, DC on October 16. The Biodynamic Association is proud to be a partner in the coalition and a sponsor of the March.

We encourage you to participate in the March or to support it in other ways. Look forward to updates on the March and further efforts afterwards to insure our right to know what is in our food!

Early Autumn on the Farm

Life continues on Jonah and Amber's CSA farm. Late summer sunflowers and heat-loving vegetables hang on for these unusually sunny and warm final September days.
