BDA Enters into Lease Agreement with Biodynamic Farmers

Farmers Amber and Jonah at market in 2010

This spring, the Biodynamic Association (BDA) entered into a one-year lease agreement with an option to buy on its 35-acre Oregon property with two young farmers, Jonah Bloch and Amber Lippert. The BDA is now working together with Jonah and Amber to find an investor or partner who can help them acquire the property, or who will buy the property and provide them with a long-term lease, with the goal of keeping the land under biodynamic stewardship.

Only two months into their lease, the property is humming with activity. Chickens peck for insects in the backyard. Veggie starts fill several greenhouses, with extras housed temporarily in the house's east-facing atrium. A tractor plows the pasture, readying it for summer crops. Biodynamic compost cooks in preparation for nourishing the soil. Read more....

Envisioning the Future of

Biodynamic Education

Biodynamic Education at the Pfeiffer Center

The Biodynamic Association has begun a planning process for a significant expansion of our educational programs. With the help of Dr. Andrew Lorand, who is serving as our consultant in the planning process, we are reaching out to a host of stakeholders, educators, and partner organizations in order to better understand the needs within the biodynamic community and the scope of current offerings. In the next month, we will be sending out an online survey to help us reach out to and better understand the work of existing biodynamic educators, mentors, and consultants. We will also be convening an educational program planning committee for a three-day retreat to help us design and prioritize our new offerings. We hope to complete the planning process and begin implementing the educational program by the end of the year. Stay tuned for our survey and for more details on this program as it evolves.
