 INTIMACY INCREASES VISION

In my most recent Bible Study, "Anointed, Transformed, and Redeemed" by Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, and Kay Arthur, I have learned a lot about David's life.  But, more importantly, it has solidified my understanding of the God who loves me, chose me, and called me according to His purpose -- and for that I am extremely thankful!  God has taken me on a personal journey for over a year to know Him more intimately.  Intimacy is His ultimate desire for all of us!  Out of the overflow of our time with Him, we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28).  He's recently called me to 'go beyond' -- to want more of Him including his mercy, grace, Word, and heart.  He's called me to 'be still and know' (e.g. that He loves me).  He's got more growth in store for me than I've ever imagined!  This growth starts with opening my eyes.  The Holy Spirit is seeking to awaken me to His activity in every season of life.  In this current challenging season He is up to some mind-blowing activity in both my personal life and ministry!  It's at these "certain (sacred) places" that He's setting me up to get me where He wants me and to help me catch sight of Him in ways I've never seen before!   The enemy wants my eyes closed.  But, God is getting ready to mesmerize me and I must keep my eyes open!

In the same way that he is positioning me, he is positioning this ministry.  He's continually positioning INFG for His purposes so that others (1) may find Him and experience His great healing and restoration after brokenness and (2) start a fresh, ongoing relationship with Him while concurrently pointing others to Him!

God recently renewed an old promise that originally inspired vision and hope for myself and others struggling from the aftermath of abortion -- "to restore the years the locusts have eaten" (Joel 2:25).  I've been given the anointing to offer this message of good news of healing for the brokenhearted, freedom for the captives, and the releasing of those in bondage in the year of the Lord's favor (Is 61:1-3)!  It is stated in 1 Peter 2:9-10 that we are (1) chosen for the high calling of priestly work, (2) royalty in His eyes belonging to Him, (3) His very instruments to do His work, and (4) speaking out for Him and telling of the night-and-day difference He made for us - from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.  God's Word is true! True intimacy will come as we are released to love Him so He can tend to our broken hearts.  He will use our pain if we'll yield to Him today!  God is in the resurrection business.  Begin to look for your "Behold" moment in this season of your life.  Isaiah 43:19, "Behold, I am about to do a brand new thing!"

Psalm 34:4-5

I sought the Lord and He answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

Since 2003, INFG Ministries has helped over 200 women, men, and extended family collectively heal from the pain and oppression of post-abortion syndrome in the Kansas City metro area.

Her Choice to Heal Classes

She walked into the Her Choice to Heal classroom with a broad smile and confident step.  But, her words verbalized unseen pain.

"There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about it.  Sometimes it is just a fleeting thought but other days it consumes me. Those are what I call 'Black Days'. "

Currently,
 INFG has three one-on-one classes
in session!

A Leader's Testimony

My name is Karen. I am one of the facilitators for the Her Choice to Heal classes. I became involved as a leader with INFG three years ago because I saw a great need for post-abortive women to receive healing. Before I made that step to lead, I needed to receive my own healing from my abortions.

I had struggled for years dealing with the aftermath of my abortions. I became pregnant my first year of college at the age of eighteen.  I was scared and didn't know what to do. My boyfriend wanted me to have an abortion and I agreed.  It was a sad and lonely time.   As time went on, our relationship continued and again I found myself pregnant.  It was decided that I would have another abortion. Oh, how I ached inside!  I was sad, depressed, embarrassed and defeated. After that, I ended my relationship with my boyfriend. I was so angry with him all of the time. My life after him didn't get any better and I spent time seeking something or someone to make it better. I thought the answer was in alcohol, drugs, and bad relationships.

Eventually after meeting my husband, my life began to change. After we married and I became involved with our church, life seemed like it was going better. Then, at certain times of the year, I would get depressed. I couldn't figure out why! January was especially hard on me every time Sanctity of Human Life Sunday would come around. I would squirm in my seat and be happy when church was over. I now realize I was experiencing "anniversary syndrome".

I had tried an online study before coming in contact with INFG that was good but did not give me the one thing I longed for-- to be a part of a group study. I called Lori Driggs, the Founder and Director of INFG, and began my journey to healing by attending the Her Choice To Heal classes and Reconciliation Weekend.

At the Her Choice to Heal classes, we use a Scripture-based curriculum alongside the Bible to help us identify specific scriptures that aids us through our journeys. Some of our first readings are from the book of John--- reminding us of God's unconditional love and forgiveness. We journal, we encourage, we cry, we comfort as God speaks directly to our individual needs.

Eccl. 3:3 says "There is a time to heal." If you are post-abortive, it's time to give priority attention to this wounded area of your life and give complete focus to healing. Our sincere desire is that you clear your schedule and commit to this season of healing. The enemy will try to impede your progress but you need to be determined to receive the restoration God has for you. Many people are praying for you, as your freedom and victory in Jesus Christ awaits you!

Banquet Fundraiser

This morning in God's Word my spirit resonated with a truth captured by Paul in 1 Timothy 1:12. "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work.  He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him...."

That scripture is currently being realized in my life and the lives of many individuals who have come alongside INFG to help us execute a memorable Fundraising Banquet.  God's goodness is as bright as the August sun -- particularly as seen in the uniquely skilled individuals he has brought to us in the past three months to meet vital Banquet needs!  Many are hosting tables, a few are using their technical skills to handle audio and visual needs, and another will transform the hotel banquet room with her eye for decor and beauty.  Other believers are lending their musical talents, a computer savvy team will handle seating logistics, and generous financial underwriters will fund the banquet costs.  Prayer partners have faithfully presented specific requests to the Lord.  It's as if God sits poised, waiting for the next request so he can send another believer across our path to serve!

Dear Believer -- it is God who strengthens...trusts...and appoints. It is our responsibility to respond.  I sincerely express my thanks and gratitude to those who have sacrificially given of their time, talent, and money to this fundraising event.

Book Review

Shades of Blue - KK

If you are willing to go to a place where you can feel the pressures and hurt of everyone who has been deceived by abortion then this book is where you can find it. Shades of Blue, outlines many of the ways abortion affects everyone, even the author herself. Karen shares her role in a past abortion that has troubled her so much that it inspired this book. Click on the picture of the book to watch an interview with the author about the Shades of Blue and her abortion experience.

Ten years ago Brad and Emma gave into temptation and ended up pregnant. The decision they made has haunted them both. Classic signs of Post Abortion Syndrome are described in both of their lives and even in Laura's, Brad's future wife. Brad's faith has grown through the years and by being obedient to the Lord Brad realizes he cannot marry Laura until he closes that chapter and apologies to Emma. Emma believes that no one could forgive her for what she has done to their child and that she is not worthy of even praying for others because God will not listen to someone like her.  By God's grace both Brad and Emma receive God's forgiveness and are able to forgive each other and themselves, in an honest heartfelt moment at Holden Beach, where you can see the Shades of Blue.

After reading this book if you are struggling with a past decision please contact INFG to enroll in a Her Choice to Heal class and/or to register for our fall or spring Reconciliation Weekends at www.infg.org.
