Live Your Life Your Way 

Do you ever feel like your life is random or haphazard and isn't amounting to anything? Or do you sometimes feel you are letting other people run your life?

 

TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE by asking yourself four big questions. I have added some sub-questions to help you answer the four big ones:
 
1. What do you want TO DO during your life?
-  What kind of work will excite you and bring you the most meaning and fulfillment?
-  What kind of recreation will rejuvenate you and magnify your happiness the most?

2. What do you want TO BE LIKE as a person?
-  What are you living for? (What makes you get out of bed every morning?) 
-  What character traits do you want yourself to have?

 

3. What kinds of RELATIONSHIPS do you want?

- What kinds of friendships will enrich your life the most?

- What kind of romance would best celebrate who you are and what you've made of yourself?
 
4. What kind of LIFESTYLE do you want?
-  What kind of dwelling and location appeals to you the most?
-  What kind of schedule suits you best?
-  What degree of privacy and formality do you seek?

 

 

HERE'S HOW TO GET STARTED:

 

FIRST, make four columns across the top of a sheet of paper, using the following headings:

-  First Heading: What I want TO DO
-  Second Heading: What I want TO BE LIKE
-  Third Heading: What kind of RELATIONSHIPS I want
-  Fourth Heading: What kind of LIFESTYLE I want

 

SECOND, write what you want under each column. These are your big four self-chosen overall goals that will enable you to live the kind of life you can love so you can feel excited about each day. If you don't know what you want, find out NOW...because you are writing your life story this very minute.

 

THIRD, schedule something to do toward at least one of these goals EVERY DAY...and write it on your calendar...and hold yourself to it!

By discovering how you want to be and what you want to do in life, you achieve purpose, meaning, and direction for your life that you didn't have before. Your life will be meaningful and rewarding. You can stop letting other people run your life and you can pursue your goals with confidence and joy. You can live your life your way and encourage others to live their lives their way, without anybody trying to run anybody else's life.
