This has been a month of roller coaster emotions for Michael. On Aug 5, Old Friends lost retiree, Bonnie's Poker, at age 28. Yesterday, he lost the son of Secretariat, Academy Award, at age 24. I've received dozens of emails and phone calls and have passed on your condolences to Michael, Diane and the gang.
On a positive note, on Aug 19, Michael was appointed by the governor of KY to the Equine Health and Welfare Alliance (EHWA) council so we now know there will be a voice for rescues. I am not familiar with the others that were appointed but you can read their information in the Governor's press release. Those of you that know Michael know how passionate he is as well as speaking his mind so he should be a welcome addtion to the board.
