This is one of the best pieces I've seen that without question, absolutely nails the Farm Bureau on its president's recent speech, Your State Soon. It is very long article so I have only posted a sampling. Their commentary is priceless and dead-on target. Of course, Stallman from the Farm Bureau had to get in a dig about "unwanted" horses so there is good commentary from TPC on that, as well.

Time to stand upright, dust your knuckles off and denude the hair on your back.....
BS:
Animal agriculture is under fire. I call it "animal warfare."
BB:
I find it ironically perverse, yet indicative of severely compromised moral and ethical standards, that you choose to use the particular phrase "animal warfare" in your self-serving, deceit-filled sermon to ag insiders, while deliberately downplaying and distorting the urgent need for addressing the atrocities within your industry; which has been waging abusive, bloody, uncontested "war" on innocent, sentient beings, denied even the most basic comforts, for an interminable length of time.
Like it or not, your "industry" WILL be dragged into a new age-one which will, by legal force, consider the fundamental needs of those you believe no more valuable than the blood-soaked greenbacks lining your wallet. Even if it takes an undercover investigation of every single ag concentration camp in the U.S. to accomplish it. Time to stand upright, dust your knuckles off and denude the hair on your back. Compassionate people are speaking out and even your multi-billion dollar corporate war chest and bastardized laws can't shut them up.
BS:
animal rights...using emotion to trump fact-based science
BB:
Let's examine your loyalty to "fact-based science" since you mention this repeatedly [I counted no less than 5 references] throughout your article. One would assume you're a huge fan of the scientific community-AND YOU ARE-as long as they don't interfere with your profits, your version of reality, or threaten the massive government subsidy checks you receive.
Evidently, Mr. Stallman, your belief in "science" conveniently waxes and wanes according to who you're attacking at the moment and what ultimately benefits the Farm Bureau the most. Meanwhile, scientists from around the globe continue to warn the animal agriculture industry of their overwhelming role in the degradation of the environment. Anyone which can deny global warming while historic, pictorial evidence confirms the polar ice caps are now reduced to half of what they were a few short decades ago; or who witnesses glaciers the size of Texas and Connecticut breaking off from the polar ice shelf, and still considers scientists "liars" probably can't be trusted to make rational decisions. Case in point: Awarding Republican Senator James Inhofe, global warming denier and proud co-sponsor of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act, the "Golden Plow Award" for his epic contributions toward raping the planet. A man who is considered by many of his peers to have one of the lowest IQ's in Congress [an amazing feat, indeed, among a sea of morons]. Let's get real. Your bottom line is PROFIT. Like every other businessman working his way to the top of a capitalist-driven society, what you sold to the man in the nether regions to attain that position, is honesty and integrity. Your bottom line is gained at the expense of the environment and the animals imprisoned within your intensive factory hellholes, which you use as fodder to continue reaping more wealth and power. Perpetuating whopping lies, i.e., "humanely operated", to achieve that goal is simply business as usual.
As a Texas rancher and supreme mouthpiece for an industry of butchers, it's highly unlikely that you care one iota whether or not animals are treated humanely. And as a growing mountain of undercover video evidence reveals, sadistic cruelty within animal-ag death camps is the norm and NOT some abhorrent exception as you would have the public believe. Your industry has successfully lobbied against any real "humane" reform for decades, yet when the tables are turned and these same tactics are used to defeat your self-proclaimed version of the truth, you behave like a group of shrill harpies...petulant thwarted bullies, who after inflicting untold torture upon your helpless victims for eons, act surprised and stunned that anyone dare challenge your evil. You argue that what you do is legal. What is legal vs what is ethical often lay at opposite ends of the spectrum. Claiming a "legal" right to despicable behaviors / business practices does not morally or ethically legitimize them nor absolve you of guilt for your participation.
I also find it grossly typical of a society overrun with psychopathy, to immediately denounce "emotions" [mentioned in your commentary 5 times] as though they were a disease to be avoided at all costs when it comes to promoting brutal acts against the powerless. "Science," is the perennial CRUTCH used by empathy-deficient droids, to justify the most heinous, despicable acts of depravity and has been flaunted continuously by such stellar examples of humanity as Josef Mengele, who easily divorced his own emotions from the torture he so deliciously loved to inflict.
