Greetings!
Ah, it's finally April! Time to get the plants out of the coldframe and garage and start poking around in the ground. After a sunny day digging in the dirt, come to the Stage Cafe and join us in welcoming our two guest groups:
Friday evening, we present Friction Farm, with Christine and Aiden. This "modern folk duo Friction Farm combine storytelling, social commentary and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. From ballads to anthems, each song is filled with harmony and hope. Blending country, folk and pop into a seamless package guitarist/vocalist Aidan Quinn and bassist/ vocalist Christine Stay bring a rare freshness and spontaneity to (our) stage. On Saturday, we present a real treat for the fans of Celtic and the British Isles.Traditional and original acoustic music based in the traditions of New England and French & Maritime Canada. Critic Cindy Hill says: "a pinnacle of performance reflecting ten years of growth deep into the heartwood of North American folk traditions ... a living picture of the complex and interwoven history of New England culture and music ... the original pieces flow naturally from these roots ..." Atlantic Crossing with be assisted in this special performance by gifted players from our local Blue Ridge Irish Music School. www.AtlanticCrossingVt.com
Our Acoustic Open Mic is continuing; ours is Sundays at 7:00 to 9:00 PM (sign-up at 6:30). There's no cover so come on down any Sunday evening and hear great players of all ages in all sorts of non-amplified genres.
And check the Future Calendar (to the left) for up-coming shows and national tours. Come join us soon for a performance at Stage Cafe: The Listener's Venue.
