Here it is the last weekend in February and Spring is just three weeks away... We've been seeing birds coming back to our woods and they are chirping merrily. They do this in early morning; we awaken happily to the sound!

 Friday, we premiere Russ Helm Quartet with  Charles Owens on sax, Bob Hallahan on keys, and Mike Hawkins on bass. Russ is based in Richmond but travels extensively. Find out much more on buddyhelm.com.

Saturday,  we present another premiere of a Richmond jazz group: Lawrence Olds Quartet. Laurence has a compelling story for his dedication to jazz music; read all about on his site. He is accompanied by Chris Whiteman (guitarist/arranger), Charlie Kilpatrick (Piano) and Mike Hawkins (Acoustic Bass). Our Acoustic Open Mic has moved to Sundays at 7:00 to 9:00 PM and is off to a great start and is attracting good musicians. There's no cover so come on down any Sunday evening and hear great young players in all sorts of non-amplified genres.
