Greetings!
Happy New Year! We hope that this newsletter finds you well and ringing in 2010 with much joy, and looking forward to new beginnings!
2009 brought many challenges and changes to Fundación A. Jean Brugger, and while it was not without its difficulties, with your support we were able to finish the year strong and with great hopes for the future. We welcome 2010 with open arms, and with you all at our side, expect it to be our most memorable year yet!
We are currently preparing our 2009 Annual Report. Please stay tuned - we will send the link to all donors in the
very near future.
I (Sarah) will be fundraising in the U.S. at the end of February/beginning of March. If you are interested in having me speak at your church or other social group, or would like to host a lunch or dinner, please contact me at sarah@fundacionajbrugger.org. I will be in both the Washington D.C. and Boston areas.
Please read on to learn more about our Christmas Ancianos' event and Student Recognition Celebration.

Christmas Ancianos' Event
|
|
Our annual Christmas Ancianos' Event, our biggest event of the year, was held on December 21st. 165 Senior Citizens were in attendance, along with 7 volunteers and 38 sponsored students!
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus paid the senior citizens a visit, and everyone received a small gift. Thank you to everyone who sent us donations! A live band performed and everyone had a lot of fun dancing, and then watching the Foundation's folkloric dance group "Asi es Mi Tierra" dance several numbers. A great time was had by all! We could not have done this without help from the Piedras y Olas family, which donated their kitchen, staff and restaurant space, collected donations and volunteered their time. Our sponsored students also collected items for gifts and to raffle off at the event. We certainly felt the backing of our community for this activity, and we are very grateful!
