IT'S A JARED FLOOD DOUBLEHEADER!!
SEAMLESS SWEATER & KOOLHAAS HAT WORKSHOPS
Saturday October 23rd

(Please note that the shop will only be open from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on October 23rd to accommodate these workshops.)

Jared Flood, the force behind Brooklyn Tweed, is a man of many talents.  Blogger, photographer, designer, and teacher, his contributions to the knitting world are numerous.  Equally exciting (at least from our point of view) is that he calls Brooklyn, NY his home.  What better way to celebrate our hometown hero than with a Jared Flood Doubleheader?

Day Game (9:00 am - 12:00 pm):  Seamless Sweater Workshop

In this 3-hour workshop, Jared will cover the foundations of seamless sweater knitting: construction, percentages, techniques, and yoke variations. Students will become familiar with the seamless method of sweater construction so that they can incorporate this method into their own designs - or alter existing flat-knitted patterns into seamless ones.  The price of the workshop is $75.00.  Please note that this is a lecture rather than a "hand's on" workshop - the only things you need to bring are a pen, paper, and an eagerness to learn!

Night Game (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm):  Koolhaas Hat Crashcourse

In this 2-hour workshop, students will be working Jared's Koolhaas Hat pattern together, and using this  project to explore the technique of cabling without a cable needle.  Please note that the workshop will begin with the cabled portion of the hat, so students are expected to complete the ribbed portion prior to class.  The price of the workshop is $50.00, and all students are entitled to a 10% discount on any materials purchased at the shop to make the hat.

Jared Flood is a Brooklyn-based knitwear designer and photographer.  His designs for handknitters have been featured in Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, and Knit1 magazines as well as various other print and online publications.
