PAPER IS SO...YESTERDAY! The second 100 years of Girl Scouting means ONLINE REGISTRATION for membership and events, and adult learning sessions. It will save time, trees, and money. The only reason to use paper forms is for financial assistance.
Need hands-on help with online registration? Come to the office. No troop debit card? No personal credit card? No computer? Or, would you just like more help and guidance through the online registration process? Come to the Registration Kiosk in the Castroville and Ventura GSCCC offices.
Only Troop checks made out to GSCCC will be accepted, and then a council credit card will be used for the eBiz online registration transaction. Have parents write their checks to the Troop so that Leaders can deposit them and then write ONE check to GSCCC.
Yes, you can use cookie credits* for online registration. How?
1. Register online using a credit/debit card 2. Print the Order Summary Page of your registration purchase 3. Write the cookie credit number on the Order Summary Page along with the $ amount you want to apply (equal to or less than the amount paid) 4. Mail this to:
GSCCC Finance
Attn: Sharon Korzep
10550 Merritt Street
Castroville, CA 95012
Your reimbursement should arrive within 4-6 weeks. If you do not receive it in that time period, please contact Sharon Korzep at (800) 822-2427 x123 or skorzep@girlscoutsccc.org
*2012 cookie credit cards will be valid until March 31, 2013 versus December 31, 2012 as previously announced.
ONLINE ON-TIME REGISTRATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 28 Troops who register for the 2013 Girl Scout year by Midnight on September 28 will fulfill one of the Honor Troop requirements. After September 28, a Troop Leader will not be able to use the ease of Troop Management to re-register girls in their troop.

BANKING ALERT - WELLS FARGO MISTAKE Wells Fargo may have inadvertently charged certain troop accounts related fees. All GSCCC troop accounts should be exempt from such fees. If your troop account has incurred a fee charge recently, remind your branch bank that the account is a Girl Scout account and request that the fees be reversed. Also, confirm that the account is properly identified as a Girl Scout account. Still have problems? Contact: CFO Charlie -

You can participate individually, as a troop, Day Camp or as a SU Event. If you want to join the fun, simply download the FG Activity Guide, choose three or more activities and send in the patch order form. If you are working on an "out of the box" project or event that you think might fit into council guidelines please contact Pattie at programs@girlscoutsccc.org |
GIRLS WORLD FORUM Last month Girl Scouts/Guides from 145 countries and 100 U.S. councils met in Chicago to address the issues they chose as the world's most urgent: ending extreme poverty and hunger; focusing on ways to empower women and promote gender equity; and ensuring environmental sustainability. The selected attendees, ages 14 to 18, are now charged with returning home to mobilize their communities around these issues. Peruse Storify of the event, which offers photos, commentary, and links to girls' blog posts. Thank you to Tiffany Whitsitt, volunteer chaperone, for representing the council with Ambassador Girl Scouts Katie (Ventura County) and Morgan (Santa Cruz County.) Stay tuned as the girls will be implementing a Take Action project for GSCCC and its members. |

eBIZ TECH SUPPORT GSUSA amended its browser block so that Safari users are allowed to use the site, as well as Internet Explorer and Firefox users; all other browsers will still receive a redirect. Safari users will continue to experience some errors with the eBiz system and are encouraged to use IE or Firefox.
To accommodate this change, a link to download Firefox is found below. Additionally, council can offer personal support to users of other browsers (eg. Google Chrome, Opera, etc.)
Contact Tanya Carelli at tcarelli@girlscoutsccc.org for support, including your name, troop number and daytime phone number in the body of the e-mail. Requests for support will be executed in the order they are received.
