PARENTS: LOVE-YOUR-LEADER DAY IS APRIL 22 It's really called Leader Appreciation Day, but it's the official day to have girls and parents say that special THANK YOU to the women, and men, who make Girl Scouting happen all year long - TROOP LEADERS. Many ways to thank a leader:

* Hand-written notes from girls or parents
* Surprise bouquet of flowers
* Hand-crafted items with girls signatures on them
* Gift cards to a coffee shop or restaurant
* Personal phone call on April 22 to express your gratitude
* Ask the girls to think of a special Thank You
 
HOW THE COOKIES CRUMBLE Thanks to the hard work and dedication of 7,000 girls, their parents, the Troop and SU Cookie Chairs, and Cookie Cupboards, we sold 1,094,000 boxes of cookies. THANK YOU!  YOU'RE A SUPER STAR!
 
Any girl that sold 750 boxes or more will be eligible to attend one of the Super Star Seller events. Please keep an eye on your email for a special eVite with detailed information.

Santa Barbara Super Star Seller Event- Saturday, April 21, 2012- Sunday, April 22, 2012. The event will begin with dinner at 5:30pm on Saturday and the event will end around 10:30am on Sunday. 
 
San Francisco Super Star Seller Event- Saturday, May 19, 2012- Sunday, May 20, 2012. The event will begin with dinner at 5:30pm on Saturday and the event will end around 10:30am on Sunday.

 

LEADERS!! CATCH THE eBIZ BUZZ! Paper is so...yesterday. ONLINE Membership re-registration is NOW. Prepare for Early Bird Member Registration by creating your eBIZ Account. Get your eBIZ BUZZ instruction booklet at your April SU Meeting. Your SU Registrar is now a Champion for eBiz and can help you get started, if necessary. FOREVER GREEN - GSUSA 100th Anniversary Take Action Project Girls across our council can participate. It's easy to make the world a better place and earn a complimentary patch at the same time! Download the GS Forever Green Activity Guide located on our website and then finish the project in three easy steps!

  • Girls select and complete three activities from the Forever Green Activity Guide
  • Register your activities on the GSUSA Girl Scouts Forever Green website http://girlscouts.org/gsforevergreen
  • Print a confirmation for your registrations and attach it to the patch order form. Orders must be received by May 31, 2012.

This Activity Guide and Forever Green Project is supported by a GSUSA and Southern California Edison grant, and your support in the reporting process is critical. Thank you and have fun!

 

PA TRAINING: As Day Camp planning gets underway, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors are getting ready to help as Program Aides at the camp and various upcoming events. See the flyer for the PA training near you.  
 
GET MOVING Summer is coming! Throughout our council, volunteer committees and council staff are preparing programs to engage our girls and get them moving through their journey of badge workshops, outdoor/STEM activities, and new adventures. Activities include: Tennis, Rock Climbing, Surfing, Hearst Castle Tour, Zoo Snooze, Hike & Bike, and Archery. Visit:  www.girlscoutsccc.org/events.
 
PINS, BADGES, & BOOKS, Oh my! GS SHOP hours have changed. New shop hours are Tuesday through Friday 10am -4pm, and open SATURDAY, APRIL14 from 11AM- 3PM. After that GS SHOPS will be open 11AM-3PM on the 1st or 2nd Saturday of the month. Legal holidays will determine which Saturday. Please refer to the website for complete list of Saturday dates
