MI SSIONARY MOMENTS

October 3-9, 2011

"GENE and RENEE YAUSSY" have been serving among the Bengali people of South Asia for over two years. During this time the demand from nationals for training has become more than they can physically accomplish. This is amazing, since less than .01 percent of the country profess to believe. The hunger for spiritual truth and help in reaching their nation is overwhelming. Gene and Renee offer training to nationals that equips them to share their faith with their friends, family, and neighbors. Gene's people group is a minority, but is comprised of 15 million people, most of whom have little or no access to the Gospel. Additional workers are desperately needed to express the truth to these people. You can help in this effort by praying and by sacrificially supporting missions through CP and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Ask God to push back the darkness in South Asia.

North Ameerican Mission Board missionary KEN DEAN moved to California for fame and fortune as an aspiring African-American entertainer. These days, Ken and his wife, SHARON, minister within three associations and a vast area of southern California. With a heart for ministry evangelism, and with your commitment to reaching people through CP, the Deans work with churches and ministries to engage and focus on ministries that tell people about Jesus. The lights of stardom are bright, but the light of Christ is greater and longer lasting. Pray that those seeking fame and fortune in southern California will find the one true God.

Help for Health

More adults are praying over health issues than any other area of life. Some 49% of adults focus the majority of their prayers on the health concerns of both themselves and others.

LEADERSHIP

Kingdom Mindset Accountability:

"If my current reality is too far removed from my current mindset, it will cause me to pull my leadership and accountability back to my comfort zone."

As the leader you are the key to making accountability real. You are the keeper of the process.

Reality - For most leaders in the churches today they are dealing mainly with volunteers, not paid staff. Meaning that in your leadership accountability you only have the ability to ask people to explain or give an account of their actions.

With the proper mindset - meaning a Kingdom Mindset - this type of interpersonal accountability in and of itself can be very powerful. That is why it is so important to build genuine relationships of trust and confidence with the people you manage.

Remember, it's okay to be boss, and it just might be time to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. When this happens your leadership accountability goes from good to great!

Remember, it's okay to be boss!

Keeping Ministry Safe
Background Check
  • In most cases, your local police department will only provide arrest records from your town. Records from Sex Offender Registries, the state and surrounding towns will not be included.
  • Police departments only store arrest records. These are not an accurate representation of an individual's criminal record. Criminal convictions, which are an accurate representation of criminal records, are stored at the county courthouse.

So what are you to do? The best place to look for the most up-to-date records is at the county courthouse. A good rule of thumb is to search the county courthouse where the applicant currently lives, but best-practice tells us to look at an applicant's 7-year address history and check those courthouses if your budget allows.

You can greatly expand the geographical search by combining the county courthouse search with our US OneSEARCH® or US OneVERIFY products. These products are inexpensive and include a nationwide sex offender scan at no additional charge.

Please continue to pray for Cecil, his wife Jeannine and the rest of the family during this trying time.

Region 3 Team Leader Frank Shope while outside walking his dog last Thursday evening, experienced a blackout and fell.  He was admitted to the hospital for overnight observation and testing, and was released Friday morning.  He has facial and neck lacerations, and is not allowed to drive until he is seen by his primary care physician Thursday, September 29. Your prayers are appreciated.

SAFE MINISTRIES

SAFE"It is always a great concern of mine as to how people are using the SAFE material. I prayerfully hope that everyone has the understanding that SAFE is 'not intended for use' apart from Christ as its undying theme, the Bible as its guide and the church as its chief administrator."  (Joey Carroll, SAFE Director)

There will be a SAFE Conference October 28 & 29. The course objectives are:

  • Understand SAFE objectives and course material
  • Review new updates to material
  • Understand tools necessary to bring about permanent change in people
  • Effectively facilitate SAFE program.
