A Message from Mrs. Hart
Dear MCS Community,
Today is Maria Montessori's 142nd birthday! Happy Birthday, Maria!
Our first full week of our new school year has ended. It has been wonderful and exciting to see the students as they work on the routine of their day. Thank you to everyone for being patient with carpool and the new procedures that are in place. The staff and I appreciate your cooperation and understanding. Each week will continue to get better and the children will be more at ease with their directresses/directors and assistants. Please remember that classroom observations can begin after the first 6 weeks of school.
Our Family Picnic is scheduled for next Friday evening the 7th, from 5:30pm to 7pm. Come ready to have a fun evening of meeting other families and learning more about MCS and what it has to offer. Every family should pack their own picnic supper. Bring a blanket to spread out so you and your family can eat together. We will have bottled water available for you and your family. Please note the PTO info regarding this event.

PTO NEWS
- PTO Meeting 9/6/2012 6:30pm in the elementary building.
- PTO forms you received at parent orientation should be completed and returned to the office.
- The Free Dress Day in September has been changed to October 26, 2012.
- Welcome Picnic 9/7/2012 5:30pm-7:00pm
- We need Welcome Picnic volunteers to pick up and return the bounce houses on base. You will need a military ID and a vehicle large enough to fit both bounce houses.
- We also need 3 volunteers to supervise the bounce houses.

MCS Board of Directors Application
If you are interested in sitting on the Board of Directors please follow the link below to fill out the application. The Board of Directors take a leadership role at Montessori through reviewing and creating policy, planning for the future, and fiscal planning. The 2012-13 board members will be elected on September 25th at the Annual Board Meeting. Again, if you are interested in this type of work please follow the link for the application.

Individual Piano Lessons at MCS
If your child is in 1st through 6th grade and you would like to sign them up for individual piano lessons there  are only three spots available. If you are interested please follow the link below for all of the sign-up information.
