Well here is the true meaning of what Montessori means to me.

Joining the Montessori team means winning the lottery to me. It is the icing on the cake, and let me tell you why. As soon as I walked in the room, I noticed it was very organized and seemed very welcoming. Sure enough it was. It was not like in movies where you walk in and kids are hanging from the ceiling spraying silly string at you.

The students here, of all ages, are very respectful to the adults and to one another. Here at Montessori, all of us students are like on big family, and that is why sometimes our personalities clash. When a problem arises, we are either eager to help or we are laid back. At the end of the day, we are all close friends. From my perspective, all the children are focused on their work 24/7, unless your class is going on a camping trip the next day that is!

The teachers and directors are not mean or stern but they are not afraid to take charge. When there is a problem they do not hesitate, but respond like firemen in a hurry. We students acknowledge the respect teachers give us and we try to give it back. One reason I like Montessori classrooms is because, no matter the size of the classroom, the teacher tries to make time to help each student, each and every day.

Joining the Montessori group is the best thing that has happened to me this year. Everyone in my family has said they see a tremendous amount of growth in me and my education. I am disappointed because this is my first and last year here. I can surely tell you I am really going to miss all the Montessori students and teachers.

They have helped me through good times and bad, and that is what Montessori means to me.
