On Sunday, May 20 at 2:00 Simon Spalding and Angie Bean will present their students in a recital in the Elementary building at Montessori. About 20 students will be playing violin and/or piano. We are fortunate to have Mr. Spalding and Ms. Bean for the students who choose private instruction.

For nearly a century, perhaps one of the best-kept "secrets" in education has been the highly successful approach developed by the first female physician in Italy, Dr. Maria Montessori.
Despite the fact that Dr. Maria Montessori began developing this method of education in 1901, advocates of this method insist that it is on the cutting edge of the current reform movement in education. The Montessori program includes:
